New Charging Options Available for Ford EV Owners

Last year Ford announced a partnership with Tesla that would change the way Ford EV owners would move forward. Ford and Tesla partnered on expanding Ford’s charging network by adding the Tesla Supercharger.

Now that partnership is paying off.

As of the end of February the Tesla Supercharger was added into the Blue Oval Charge Network.

What does that mean for Ford EV owners?

All Ford electric vehicles will be able to access and charge their vehicle using the Supercharger anywhere in North America. However, you will need an adapter in order to use this charger.

Tesla Supercharger Adapter

The Tesla Supercharger uses a specific adapter that is not compatible with Ford’s current charging adapter.

Ford is helping owners upgrade their adapters in order to access the Tesla Supercharger and other North America Charging DC Fast Charger options by making the fast charging adapter available at no cost for a limited time and in a limited quantity.

All 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E’s, 2022-2024 F-150 Lightnings and E-transits qualify for this adapter.

You can reserve your free adapter right now!

You will need to be enrolled in the Blue Oval Charging Network to secure your place on the reservation list. Signing up is easy, all you need is login into your FordPass account at Ford.ca and click the link to claim your free adapter. From there you will need to fill in your shipping information and Ford will send the adapter to you.
